Our sons have worked in the family business since their early childhood. Our loving daughters in law are Brenda and Susan Harroz. I am Sitie to five grandchildren, Tanner, Nicholas J Tayar, Preston David, Sophia Marie, and Alia Silvernail. My Jidi was Neula Hannah (Nicholas John) Tayar and Sitie was Hafeetha Diab, both of Jdeidet Marjeyoun. My father was the youngest of their six children. Sitie alone and not speaking a word of English, immigrated to the United States five years after Jidi, bringing her daughter, their first child, and her twelve year old niece. Bill and I along with Father Constantine Nasr, his wife, Sharon, their son Philip and a small group were on the southern border the morning after the Israeli's pulled out of Southern Lebanon in May 2000. Without visas we could only stand on the border crossing and look into Lebanon. It was breath taking. Hope to return soon.

Tayar, Pam Fairbanks Ibrahim	.	My grandfather was Saied Tayar, born in Jdeidet Marjeyoun. He came to the US when the Turks were ruling Lebanon, and at Ellis Island they changed his last name to Taylor. He owned a farm and a dry goods store in Oklahoma. Our Lebanese heritage was kept alive by the foods we ate and the closeness we had with my grandfather's brothers and sisters and their families. I would love to know more about the Tayar family and its roots in Lebanon.
